The Awakening Man is a transformational adventure experience for men looking to awaken their greatest power, potential and authentic self expression in the world.
We are bringing together a group of courageous men willing to dive deep into what it truly means to be a man in the 21st century; free of any labels, restrictions or limitations.
This incredible journey will take us down into the Sacred Valley in Peru and up into the majestic and mystical Andes Mountains with other like-minded men as we hike our way to the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu. Throughout the 3 day trek we’ll visit Andean villages, meet the local indigenous people and visit local schools in their mountain villages. We will be camping amid the spectacular mountains and experience two traditional, indigenous ceremonies with a local shaman.
We will connect, learn and raise our consciousness. This sacred exploration includes daily reflection, group discussions and exercises all centered around your full integration as a complete and whole human being. There will also be a healthy dose of physical activity, learning, sightseeing and cultural immersion.

Day 1: Arrive in Cusco
Arrive to the hotel in Cusco on your own schedule in the afternoon. We will meet at 6pm in the lobby for drinks followed by dinner. This will be an early night to make sure we’re well rested for the adventure ahead.
Meals: Dinner/ Accommodation: TBD 4 star hotel/ Elevation: 11,000 ft.
Day 2: Cusco to Ollantaytambo
Breakfast is at 8am followed by an in-depth briefing for the week to come. A private bus will pick us up in the late morning at our hotel for a scenic ride through the Sacred Valley to our final destination for the day: Ollantaytambo. After settling in at the Tunupa Lodge, we’ll enjoy lunch followed by free time to explore the area. That afternoon we’ll have our opening session where we’ll start the deep dive into why we have joined together. We’ll then have a small break followed by dinner. After dinner we will discuss our first topic – The Masks We Wear.

Day 3: Ollantaytambo to Lares
Breakfast is at 6 AM. At 7, a private transport will take us to a volcanic hot spring at the beginning of the Lares trek where we will have a special initiation ceremony with our experienced shaman, Eduardo. During this ceremony we will be asking for permission from “Pachamama” (Mother Earth) to enter these sacred areas followed by a purification ritual for each participant.
At this beautiful location our cook will prepare lunch. Following lunch we’ll hike approximately 3 hours to our campsite, Wacahuasi for a late afternoon arrival. There will be free time before dinner followed by an evening session around a campfire with insightful conversations.
Meals: B, L &D/ Drive: 3hr / Hike Distance: approx 4 mi / Duration: approx 3 hr /Camp Site: Wacahuasi/ Elevation: 12,500 ft.
Day 4: Wacahuasi- Yanahura
Early wake up call. Our hike that starts at 8am and finishes at around 1 PM. During the hike we’ll encounter many traditional villages where you’ll witness the way of life of the Andean people, a way of life that hasn’t changed much since the time of the Incas. The schedule at our campsite will be similar to yesterday’s.
Meals: B, L &D/Camp site: Yanahuara/ Elevation: 12,000 ft. (highest elevation during trek: 14,000 ft.)/ Hike Distance: 3-4 miles / Duration: approx 4 hours
Day 5: Yanhura-Aguas Calientes
This morning we will visit a nearby school to meet local children and to donate any materials or supplies you may have brought with you for this purpose. This is a great way to share with and support the local community. Our hike will start at 8am and finishes at 1 PM. Lunch will be at a scenic lagoon. After lunch we will continue towards Patacancha, a traditional Andean village where our private transport will pick us up and take us back to Ollantaytambo. We’ll then take the famous scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes. In the evening, after dinner, we will journey to a local thermal bath where Eduardo will lead us through a re-birthing ceremony in the thermal waters.
Meals: B, L &D/Accommodation: TBD /Elevation: 12,300/ Hike Distance: 3-4 miles/ Duration: 4 hours / Train journey
Day 7: Machu Picchu
Early morning wake up call. At 5.30 AM a bus will take us directly to Machu Picchu, arriving at around 6 AM to watch the sunrise. Once inside Machu Picchu we will have two options:
1) Visit the Inca bridge and Inti Punku, also known as the Sun Gate, one of the most important archeological sites in Machu Picchu.
2) Ascend Machu Picchu mountain, to get a beautiful 360 degree vista of the entire area.
Either way it will be an incredible experience. Both options include a ceremony for “Pachamama” (Mother Earth) in one of the ruins on site. In the afternoon we’ll take the expedition train back to Ollantaytambo where we’ll settle back into the Tunupa Lodge for our closing session and evening’s dinner.
Meals: B &D (lunch will be purchased in Aguas Calientes)/Accommodation: Tunupa Lodge /Elevation: 7,000 ft./ Hike Duration: walking around Machu Picchu for approximately 6 hours.
Day 8: Return to Cusco
We will return to Cusco center together. From there each is free to continue their travels or go to the Cusco airport for onward flights.
- Each evening we will discuss the next day’s hiking plan and make adjustments based on the group’s needs.
- During the hiking portion of the adventure there is the possibility of deviations from this planned itinerary.
